High Performance Program
New for the 26/27, our High Performance Program has pivoted to accommodate an Evening & Weekend training format! Athletes can train at the HP level and attend their home school.
The OLYM High Performance (HP) program is lead by an experienced, professional coaching staff. Our coaches bring a wealth of experience from provincial, national and international levels of training and competition. In addition, many of our coaches have led Ontario Provincial Teams, and coached National Teams outside of Canada. OLYM has a lot of depth in their coaching roster – many of our coaches were talented athletes who made the transition to coaching; several of our coaches were on Canada’s National team and represented OLYM and Canada on the international stage.
Our HP program is intended for experienced athletes who are committed to training and competing in the National stream and at the National level of competition. These athletes will attend many competitions throughout the season, including all Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS) sanctioned meets and two Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS) Nationally sanctionned meets which happen in March and May of the competitive year.
OLYM’s HP program is based on the Canada Sport Centres’ Long-term Athlete Development (LTAD) Training to Train and Training to Compete Stages. Athletes develop their stamina (endurance), strength, speed, and suppleness (flexibility), while gaining more advanced artistic swimming skills. Mental training is introduced and developed, including goal setting and evaluation, visualization and competition preparation. Working with team members and coaches in a supportive environment, OLYM’s HP athletes gain grace, confidence and poise as they represent their club proudly at provincial and national competitions.
12U HP program
This program is intended for athletes who are seeking additional training at the Provincial level and who are intending to move to the National level once age-eligible.
The 12U HP team will attend all of the regular Provincial stream competitions for 12U athletes (per Ontario Artistic Swimming and Canada Artistic Swimming rules). They may also have the opportunity to qualify for additional meets such as Ontario Winter Games and tryout for the 12U Provincial team. Athletes on this team will be physically and mentally prepared to move to our Youth High Performance program once they are entering Grade 7.

Extra Routines
HP Athletes may also have the opportunity to do an extra routine (duet or solo depending on age group) during the season. These athletes will be selected by our coaching team. This routine is on top of team training, and there is an additional cost for training, meet entry fees, etc.
An extra routine requires additional training of 2-3 hours/week and the routine will also compete at all of the same competitions as their team (provided that they qualify per OAS and CAS rules).
Extra routines typically start after Thanksgiving, after the coaches have had a month of training to assess athlete readiness, suitability, etc.
Private Figure Sessions
One on one figure sessions are also available to athletes wishing to do additional technical work to enhance their team training. If you are interested in one on one figure sessions, please contact your team coach. Subject to pool and coach availability.
