High Performance Programs
Welcome to our High Performance Program!
The OLYM High Performance (HP) program is lead by an experienced, professional coaching staff. Our coaches bring a wealth of experience from provincial, national and international levels of training and competition. In addition, many of our coaches have led Ontario Provincial Teams, and coached National Teams outside of Canada. OLYM has a lot of depth in their coaching roster – many of our coaches were talented athletes who made the transition to coaching; several of our coaches were on Canada’s National team and represented OLYM and Canada on the international stage.
Our HP program is intended for experienced athletes who are committed to training and competing in the National stream and at the National level of competition. These athletes will attend many competitions throughout the season, including all Ontario Artistic Swimming (OAS) sanctioned meets and two Canada Artistic Swimming (CAS) Nationally sanctionned meets which happen in March and May of the competitive year.
We offer programming for the following age groups: Youth (13-15) and Junior (16-18) and Senior (18+).
OLYMs High Performance program is truly unique. We offer intensive morning training, complemented by a condensed school curriculum with our affiliate schools. Both Hollycrest Middle School and Silverthorn Collegiate Institute have High Performer Programs that work with OLYMs training schedule. This approach ensures maximum training time with a solid education, while giving athletes and their families a more balanced family life. Please note that some of our athletes prefer to stay at their home school, and have been able to work out a training program. If this is something that interests you, please contact your home school to start making the necessary arrangements.
For athletes attending Hollycrest Middle School (grades 7-8) – school is from 12:30-3:30pm, daily. Athletes complete their training, change and walk together in groups to the school, which is approximately ten minutes by foot from the pool. For athletes attending Silverthorn Collegiate Institute (grades 9-12), training ends at 11am. Athletes change and travel to school together to by pre-arranged transportation.
OLYM’s HP program is based on the Canada Sport Centres’ Long-term Athlete Development (LTAD) Training to Train and Training to Compete Stages. Athletes develop their stamina (endurance), strength, speed, and suppleness (flexibility), while gaining more advanced artistic swimming skills. Mental training is introduced and developed, including goal setting and evaluation, visualization and competition preparation. Working with team members and coaches in a supportive environment, OLYM’s HP athletes gain grace, confidence and poise as they represent their club proudly at provincial and national competitions.
February 2026 – Athletes who are currently in 12U (b. 2014), Youth (b. 2011-2013) or Junior (b. 2008-2010) will be recommended to move to our High Performance program by invitation. Invites to the High Performance program will be made by our HP coaches and Leadership team. Invites will be based on current skill level, experience, training level, mental game, etc.
The TDSB application portal will re-open following March Break. Any athlete’s interested in applying to the program should contact Head Coach, Amy Bush at headcoach@olympiumartswim.ca to learn more and to request a coach reference letter.
