Glen Steacy – Speed Swimming Coach

Glen is a former college swimmer who has returned to the sport as a coach. He began swimming in London, Ontario at the age of 6 with the London Aquatic Club. He swam at LAC for 13 years, three of them as a National Qualifier. He was Junior National Champion in 1996 in the 1500m free. Glen received a swimming scholarship to St. John’s University in New York City, where he swam in the NCAA Division 1 for four years while studying Business. He was Team Captain in his senior year. Glen began his coaching career with McGill University Masters Swimming, coaching there for four seasons and producing Provincial and National record holders. He was in charge of the program for his last two years, while also serving as the Assistant Coach for the McGill University varsity swim team. He is a certified Level 1 swim coach with the NCCP. Glen is currently entering his third year with Markham Aquatic Club where he has moved into the position of Head Age Group Coach.
