OAS Framework for Return to Artistic Swimming Activity in Ontario

The Ontario Artistic Swimming Association has released its final framework for returning to the pool. The focus remains on the health and safety of all participants in our sport as we move forward in partnership with our membership. It rests with all of us to be vigilant and mindful in assessing the risks and adhering to appropriate health and safety protocols in order to minimize those risks and to keep each other safe from COVID-19. May’s HP Athlete of the Month for May is Jessica Moran!

Our HP Athlete of the Month for May is Jessica Moran.

Jessica is on our 11-12 HP team.  Coach Lola says Jessica is an incredible athlete and is very funny. Jessica placed 6th in solo at Trillium Championships, and with her duet partner, Lauren Smith, became 12U Duet Champions! Jessica has made big strides in her mental game this year, and she performed like a true fighter at Trilliums – that made Coach Lola very proud.

Way to go, Jessica!

May’s Competitive Athlete of the Month is Kaia Dodge!

Our Competitive Athlete of the Month is Kaia Dodge.

Kaia worked extremely hard in preparation for Trillium Championships at the end of May. Coach Diana says that Kaia continuously asked how to improve her figures and routine leading it to the competition. In addition, Kaia has been giving more than 100% at every practice in May. She has been a great role model for her whole team!

Way to go, Kaia!

Our Pre-Competitive Athlete of the Month for April is Sasha Basov.

Sasha is on our 8 & Under Pre-Competitive team, Sasha shows up to every practice ready to get to work. She always puts forth her best effort and never complains. Coach Vanessa says Sasha always has a positive attitude and is willing to try anything.

April Competitive Athletes of the Month are Mei Chiao and Ryleigh Taylor!

Our Competitive Athletes of the Month for April are Mei Chiaoand Ryleigh Taylor!

Mei and Ryleigh are swimming in the Junior duet category this year, and train with our 13-15 Competitive team. The coaches describe this pair as dedicated, determined and hard working. They are always prepared for practice with a goal and direction in mind.

They are great leaders and role models to all of our younger swimmers in the evening program.

Congratulations ladies, keep up the great work!

April HP Athlete of the Month is Nicole Marineci!

Our HP Athlete of the Month for April is Nicole Marineci.

Nicole is on our HP 13-15 Red team. Nicole has been working consistently hard all season and this month that consistency has paid off. She has made huge improvements in her sculling, vertical line, and height in figures. On top of the synchro specific improvements, Nicole is an excellent teammate. Coach Steph says she is kind, committed, and can really lift the team up when they need some inspiration or a good laugh.

Way to go, Nicole!
