Board members use their knowledge and experience to represent the best interests of OSSC at all times. Experience and particular skills sought include: human resources, finance, strategic planning, not-for-profit governance, marketing, technology and managing volunteers. Board members may be expected to attend Synchro Ontario events as representatives of the club and the end of season AGM. Directors are also potentially appointed to chair or participate on Board Standing Committees, where their particular skill set is identified as necessary.

Questions from interested candidates are welcome and confidential.

If you are interested in being part of the OSSC Board, please submit the required Nomination Form and Nominee profile (see attached) by May 26, 2017 via email to: Susan St-Pierre, Secretary of the Board susanstp.synchro@gmail.com

Warm Up Regionals

Pre RoutinesStella Abby

January Athlete of the Month – Evening – Abby Muscat

Abby_MuscatAbby, age 10, started synchro in the recreational classes followed by last year’s Winter Novice Team and is now a member of the 10&U provincial team. She loves synchro because of the creative routines, making new friends and being able to swim all the time. Her goal one day is to swim for Canada!  She also enjoys soccer, drawing and reading.
Her coach, Diana says, “Abby is constantly asking for corrections. She is always trying to improve her figures even working on them at home on land and going upside down to simulate them. She is constantly pushing herself to become stronger and better. In addition she always makes sure that she is doing the movements in the routine correctly by always checking in with her coaches.” Her hard work paid off with amazing results at the Lisa A competition.

January Athlete of the Month – Morning – Janet Soilis

Janet_Soilis
Janet, age 13, started synchro at OSSC’s Summer Splash Camp, followed by 1 year in pre-provincial before moving to High Performance as an 11-12 last year.  She is now on the 13-15 HP Team. Along with absolutely loving synchro she has a very creative side. She enjoys arts and crafts. She also loves to paint.
Her coach, Laura, nominated her for the huge improvements she’s made in all areas, including figure skills, focus at practice, positive attitude and confidence. She’s also made tremendous strides in her mental competition skills. As a result of all of her hard work, she had a great performance at the Lisa Alexander Meet.
